Stewardship

I have come to believe that Stewardship is less about raising funds and more about raising faith!  I love the challenge and the blessing of working on Stewardship with churches.  While some see it as "fundraising for the church" or a necessary annoyance to keep the doors of the church open, I see it as a spiritual practice.  In my experience, good stewardship programs can be joyful, build energy in the church, and move us closer to God!

These are two Stewardship videos I have put together with churches as part of our celebrations!  What is so great is that people who wouldn't be comfortable talking in front of the sanctuary are willing to talk on camera where they can have multiple "takes".  It gives me a chance to add in photos, as well.  While the hope is to bring in pledges, they also push us to think about what being church is all about and to celebrate what God is doing in our midst.

Stewardship: A Celebration in Stories

This one is more recent.  We were encouraging as many groups in the church as possible to take on "Generosity Projects" as part of a "Season of Generosity."  This generated a lot of energy and goodwill!

These were great resources that we could show in worship and burn onto DVDs to send out to folks who missed worship.  We were also able to put them online and put a link into our Stewardship mailing and emails!
